TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 23 September 2010 it transferred for nil consideration 344,692
Ordinary shares currently held in Treasury to 31 participants (not PDMR's) to 
satisfy previously vested awards under the Hays plc Performance Share Plan.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 79,883,238 Ordinary shares in Treasury.
The number of shares in issue is 1,384,213,328(excluding Treasury shares).
