                          TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES                          

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 15 February 2007 it transferred 13,024 Ordinary Shares
currently held in Treasury to satisfy the maturity of the Hays plc UK Sharesave
Scheme. 13,024 shares were transferred at 109p.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 106,426,817 Ordinary Shares in
Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,457,669,749 (excluding treasury
shares).
