IMAGE SCAN HOLDINGS PLC ANNOUNCES FIRST EXPORT ORDER FOR ITS X-LINE IN-LINE
INSPECTION SYSTEM
Image Scan Holdings plc (AIM: IGE), a provider of leading real-time multi-view,
3D X-ray imaging solutions for the industrial and security inspection markets,
today confirmed the first overseas order for its industrial 3D X-ray in-line
inspection system, X-Line. The $396,000 order, due for delivery late 2005, is
from a major US-based supplier in the automotive sector and brings our total
industrial orders in the last 9 months to over £1m. Image Scan's X-Line
scanning system is an in-line X-ray inspection system that allows rapid high
resolution 2D and 3D imaging of items in the production line - typically up to
2-3 items per second. The X-Line system can incorporate a number of standard or
customised analysis tools to help to automatically identify irregular or faulty
items as they are produced. This information is then used to reject faulty
goods and, if appropriate, supply feedback information to optimise the
manufacturing process - minimising scrap, improving quality and reducing costs.
Nicholas Fox, Chief Executive of Image Scan Holdings plc, commented:
"The automotive sector represents a key market for Image Scan's 3D and 2D
inspection systems. We are delighted to have now received our first substantial
order from the US in this field - following the order of an MDXI inspection
system in the same sector earlier this year. We remain encouraged by the
increasing levels of interest in our industrial products and in the new
security products due for launch later this year."
Providing real-time, in-line, X-ray inspection of concealed components within
the production process, the X-LINE can be configured to cope with a wide range
of products and line speeds with detector resolution, scintillator type, number
of pixels and X-ray source power being configured to suit a customer's specific
requirements.
