Notification of Directors' attributable interests

The Investec plc Jersey #1 Trust ('the UK Share Scheme') notified the Company
on the 7th July 2005, on behalf of the executive directors of the Company and
pursuant to section 324 of the UK Companies Act 1985, that it had purchased
call options over 174,560 Ordinary Shares in Investec plc.

Furthermore, the Investec Limited Security Purchase and Option Scheme 2002
Trust ('the SA Share Scheme') notified the Company on the 7th July 2005, on
behalf of the executive directors of the Company and pursuant to section 324 of
the UK Companies Act 1985, that it had purchased call options over 105,230
Ordinary Shares in Investec plc and 61,801 Ordinary shares in Investec Limited.

Accordingly all the executive directors of the Company are interested in a
further 279,790 Ordinary Shares in Investec plc and 61,801 Ordinary shares in
Investec Limited. This is because the directors of the Company (together with
certain employees of the Company) are potential beneficiaries of both the UK
Share Scheme and the SA Share Scheme and are therefore interested in all the
unallocated Ordinary Shares held by the UK Share Scheme and the SA Share Scheme.
