ANNUAL REPORT & NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Johnson Matthey Plc has today posted to its shareholders the following
documents:

  * Annual Report for the year ended 31 March 2009
  * Notice of Annual General Meeting
  * Form of Proxy for the Annual General Meeting
   
The Annual General Meeting will be held at 11am on Tuesday 21 July 2009 at The
Institution of Engineering and Technology (The Lecture Theatre), 2 Savoy Place,
London WC2R 0BL.

The above documents have also been submitted to the UK Listing Authority and
will shortly be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority's Document
Viewing Facility which is situated at The Financial Services Authority, 25 The
North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.
