         Appointment as non-executive chairman of the Highways Agency          

It has today been announced by the Department of Transport, the Highways Agency
and The Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin MP (Secretary of State for Transport) that Mr
Colin Matthews, a non-executive director of Johnson Matthey Plc, has been
appointed as non-executive chairman of the Highways Agency. Mr Matthews will
take up his post on 1st September 2014.
