                          Statement re: Press Article                          

Karelian Diamond Resources plc (AIM: KDR; ESM: KDR.I) notes the recent press
comment and confirms that it has withdrawn its application for a Claim
Reservation in the far North of Finland. The decision is a commercial and
technical decision to concentrate diamond exploration efforts on Central
Finland and in particular in the Kuhmo region where the Company has recently discovered
a kimberlite body. The Company confirms that it has not commenced exploration
in the area.
