                         APPOINTMENT OF A NEW DIRECTOR                         

The Corporation is pleased to announce that The Hon. Robert Laing has been
appointed a Non-Executive Director of The Law Debenture Corporation p.l.c. with
effect from 2 April 2012.

Robert Laing was admitted as a solicitor in England in 1977 and in Scotland in
1985.  He worked for Slaughter and May from 1975 until 1983, when he joined Maclay Murray
& Spens.  He has been a partner in that firm (now Maclay Murray & Spens LLP)
since 1985 and chairman since 1 June 2010.
