Purchase of shares by subsidiary undertaking

The Law Debenture Corporation p.l.c. announces that on 11 June 2003, one of its
subsidiaries Beagle Nominees Limited purchased 44,004 ordinary shares of 5
pence each in The Law Debenture Corporation p.l.c.

Under the terms of a Trust Deed dated 10 June 2003, Beagle Nominees Limited was
appointed trustee of The Law Debenture Corporation p.l.c. Share Incentive Plan
Trust.

The 44,004 shares were purchased by Beagle Nominees Limited in the open market
at £2.03 and will be held by the trustee for the benefit of participating
employees in accordance with the rules of the SIP, which satisfy sections 488
to 515 of, and Schedule2 to, ITEPA 2003.
