                               Board Appointment                               

The Board of Liontrust is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Vinay Abrol
as an executive director with immediate effect. He will serve as Chief
Operating Officer and will be responsible for all the group's technology and
operations.

Mr Abrol joined Liontrust in 1995 as director of Liontrust Investment Funds Ltd
and Liontrust Investment Services Ltd. He has made an important contribution to
the growth of the business and we are delighted to welcome him on to the Board.
Previously he was with James Capel Unit Trust Management for some years and
latterly S.G. Warburg.

Mr Abrol has an interest in 392,792 shares in Liontrust Asset Management PLC
and options over 126,951 further shares.

There are no details to be disclosed under Listing Rule 16.4.
