Liontrust Asset Management plc ('the Company') has been notified on 22 July
2004 of dealing in the Company's ordinary shares as follows:

Nigel Legge and Andrew Yates, directors of the Company, are participants in the
Company's Employee Share Ownership Plan (the 'ESOP') and on 21 June 2004 were
allocated 167 and 197 ordinary shares respectively at a price of 329p per
share.

Nigel Legge's total interest following this notification is 880,870 ordinary
shares or 2.52% of the total issued share capital of the Company. Andrew Yates'
total interest following this notification is 483,481 ordinary shares or 1.38%
of the total issued share capital of the Company.
