The Trustee of the Liontrust Asset Management Employee Trust has notified the
Company that it acquired in the market a total of 127,045 ordinary shares in
the Company on 29 September 2005 at a price of 270p per share. Following this
transaction, the Trust held a total of 3,377,511 ordinary shares in the Company
in which the following directors had an interest as potential beneficiaries: V.
K. Abrol, N. R. Legge, J. D. Lang and W. T. Pattisson. The Liontrust Asset
Management Employee Trust is a trust, which purchases or subscribes for
ordinary shares in the Company, so as to allow the Trustee to satisfy the
exercise of options granted under the Liontrust Enterprise Management Incentive
Scheme.
