Liontrust Asset Management PLC ('the Company') has been notified on 17 October
2005 of dealing in the Company's ordinary shares as follows:

Nigel Legge and Vinay Abrol, directors of the Company, are participants in the
Company's Employee Share Ownership Plan (the 'ESOP') and on 17 October 2005
were allocated 132 ordinary shares each at a price of 284p per share.

Nigel Legge's total interest following this notification is 893,842 ordinary
shares or 2.54% of the total issued share capital of the Company. Vinay Abrol's
total interest following this notification is 405,704 ordinary shares or 1.15%
of the total issued share capital of the Company.
