                             Change in directorate                             

Following the retirement of Richard Good from the board of the Company on 3rd
October 2003, the directors of the Company are pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr. John Hunter Maxwell as a non-executive director of the
Company with effect from 1st November 2003.

Mr. Maxwell, aged 59, currently serves as a non-executive director of Parity
Group PLC, Provident Financial PLC, Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group PLC
and The Big Food Group PLC. He is also the Chairman of The Institute of
Advanced Motorists Limited and a Governor of the Royal Ballet School.

Mr. Maxwell has no unspent convictions in relation to indictable offences, has
not been made bankrupt or subject to any individual voluntary arrangement, has
not been involved as a director of a company at the time or within 12 months of
such company being subject to a receivership, a compulsory liquidation, company
voluntary arrangement or any composition or arrangement with any of its
creditors, has not been a partner or director of a partnership at the time or
within 12 months of such partnership voluntary arrangement nor has he been
subject to any public criticism by any statutory or regulatory authority, nor
has he ever been disqualified by a court from acting as a director of a company
or from acting in the management or conduct of the affairs of any company.
