The Company has today been advised that Mrs CM Clarke, the wife of a Director
of the Company, acquired on 25 January 2006, 88 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 327.75p each.
The shares were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the
Majedie share plan.

The Company was also advised that Mr R Clarke, a Director of the Company,
acquired on 26 January 2006, 174 ordinary shares of 10p each (representing 0.0%
of the issued class of capital) at a price of 327.75p each. The shares were
acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the Majedie PEP
Scheme.

Mr R Clarke is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 25,131 shares,
representing 0.05% of the issued share capital.

The Company was further advised that Mrs MEW Reid, the wife of a Director of
the Company, acquired on 25 January 2006, 545 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 327.75p each.
The shares were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the
Majedie share plan.

Mr Reid is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 31,543 shares,
representing 0.06% of the issued share capital.

This announcement is made in accordance with Sections 324 and 328 of the
Companies Act.
