The Company has today been advised that Mr R Clarke, a Director of the Company,
acquired on 6 July 2005, 109 ordinary shares of 10p each (representing 0.0% of
the issued class of capital) at a price of 276.00p each. The shares were
acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the Majedie PEP
Scheme.

The Company has also been advised today that Mrs C M Clarke, the wife of a
Director of the Company, acquired on 6 July 2005, 57 ordinary shares of 10p
each (representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 276.00p
each. The shares were acquired pursuant to a dividend re-investment through the
Majedie Share Plan.

As a result of these transactions Mr R Clarke is now deemed to have a
disclosable interest in 15,286 shares, representing 0.03% of the issued share
capital.

The Company has also been advised today that Mrs MEW Reid, the wife of a
Director of the Company, purchased on 6 July 2005, 682 ordinary shares of 10p
each (representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 276.00p
each. The shares were purchased pursuant to a regular standing order through
the Majedie share plan.

Mr Reid is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 28,989 shares,
representing 0.06% of the issued share capital.
