Director Shareholding

MAJEDIE INVESTMENTS PLC

The Company has been advised that Mr R Clarke, a Director of the Company,
acquired on 27 August 2003, 16 Ordinary shares of 10p each (representing 0.0%
of the issued class of capital) at a price of 206.00p each. The shares were
acquired pursuant to the re-investment of tax credits, through the Majedie PEP
Scheme.

Mr R Clarke is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 13,743 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.

The Company was also advised that Mrs M Ritchie, the wife of a Director of the
Company, acquired on 27 August 2003, 14 Ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 206.00p each.
The shares were also acquired pursuant to the re-investment of tax credits,
through the Majedie PEP Scheme.

Mr Ritchie is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 15,717 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.
