Director Shareholding

MAJEDIE INVESTMENTS PLC

The Company has today been advised that Mrs MEW Reid, the wife of a Director of
the Company, purchased on 6 August 2003, 500 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 199p each. The
shares were purchased pursuant to a regular standing order and a dividend
reinvestment through the Majedie share plan.

Mr Reid is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 17,379 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.
