Director Shareholding

The Company has today been advised that Mr R Clarke, a Director of the Company,
acquired on 4 February 2004, 209 ordinary shares of 10p each (representing 0.0%
of the issued class of capital) at a price of 226.0p each. The shares were
acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the Majedie PEP
Scheme.

Mr R Clarke is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 14,457 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.

The Company was also advised that Mrs M Ritchie, the wife of a Director of the
Company, acquired on 4 February 2004, 177 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 226.0p each.
The shares were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the
Majedie PEP scheme.

Mr Ritchie is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 15,894 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.
