Director Shareholding

MAJEDIE INVESTMENTS PLC

The Company has today been advised that Mrs MEW Reid, the wife of a Director of
the Company, purchased on 7 January 2004, 434 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 229p each. The
shares were purchased pursuant to a regular standing order and a dividend
reinvestment through the Majedie share plan.

Mr Reid is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 19,734 shares,
representing 0.04% of the issued share capital.
