The Company has today been advised that Mr R Clarke, a Director of the Company,
acquired on 7 July 2004, 133 ordinary shares of 10p each (representing 0.0% of
the issued class of capital) at a price of 219.00p each. The shares were
acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the Majedie PEP
Scheme.

The Company has also been advised today that Mrs C M Clarke, the wife of a
Director of the Company, purchased 69 ordinary shares of 10p each (representing
0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 219.00p each. The shares
were purchased pursuant to a dividend re-investment through the Majedie Share
Plan.

Mr R Clarke is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 14,791 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.

The Company was also advised that Mrs M Ritchie, the wife of a Director of the
Company, acquired on 7 July 2004, 112 ordinary shares of 10p each (representing
0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 219.00p each. The shares
were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the Majedie PEP
Scheme.

Mr Ritchie is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 16,028 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.
