Director Shareholding

MAJEDIE INVESTMENTS PLC

The Company has today been advised that Mrs CM Clarke, the wife of a Director
of the Company, acquired on 26 January 2005, 111 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 240p each. The
shares were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the
Majedie share plan.

Mr R Clarke is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 15,120 shares,
representing 0.03% of the issued share capital.

The Company was also advised that Mrs MEW Reid, the wife of a Director of the
Company, acquired on 26 January 2005, 584 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 240.0p each.
The shares were acquired through a dividend re-investment, and are held in the
Majedie share plan.

Furthermore on 9 February 2005 Mrs MEW Reid purchased 392 ordinary shares of
10p each (representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of
254.0p each. The shares were purchased pursuant to a regular standing order
through the Majedie share plan.

Mr Reid is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 26,794 shares,
representing 0.05% of the issued share capital.
