Director Shareholding

MAJEDIE INVESTMENTS PLC

The Company has today been advised that Mrs MEW Reid, the wife of a Director of
the Company, purchased on 11 May 2005, 411 ordinary shares of 10p each
(representing 0.0% of the issued class of capital) at a price of 242p each. The
shares were purchased pursuant to a regular standing order through the Majedie
share plan.

Mr Reid is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 27,919 shares,
representing 0.05% of the issued share capital.
