MAJEDIE INVESTMENTS PLC

The Company has been advised that on 26 March 2004 Capco Trust Corporation
Limited, the Trustee of the Majedie Investments PLC Incentive Trust, purchased
a total of 50,000 ordinary 10p shares in the Company (representing 0.095% of
the Company's issued ordinary share capital). The shares were purchased in two
transactions of 25,000 each at a price of £2.21 per share and £2.26 per share
respectively.

As a result of this transaction, the Majedie Investments PLC Incentive Trust
now holds 351,409 ordinary 10p shares (representing 0.67% of the Company's
issued ordinary share capital).
