Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC ("the Company")

Further to the announcement made on 2 April 2009, the Directors confirm that Mr
Roger Cuming was appointed as a Director of the Company at the Board meeting
held on 5 June 2009.

Mr Cuming is currently a director of Close Enhanced Commodities Fund.

There are no other details required to be disclosed pursuant to LR 9.6.13 of
the UKLA Listing Rules.
