Montanaro UK Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC

The Company has today been informed that, following the sale of 300,000
Ordinary shares on 14 December 2006, East Riding of Yorkshire Council now has
an interest in 2,800,000 Ordinary 10p shares of the Company. This holding
represents 7.86% of the issued share capital.
