                                   STATEMENT                                   

The Board of betinternet, the global on-line gaming group, is aware that the
Company's name has been mentioned in a news report in relation to legal
proceedings in New York. The Company is not involved in any way regarding the
proceedings and has not been contacted by any legal or regulatory authority in
respect of this matter.

The Board can confirm that more than six months ago it reported a suspicious
transaction in relation to one of the defendants to the Isle of Man Financial
Crimes Unit. The Board can only believe that this may be the reason for its
name being linked to these proceedings.

Shareholders will be updated if any further information becomes available.

The Company also stated that it intends to announce its interim results on 4
February 2004.
