National Grid - CEO Interviewed on Preliminary ...
LONDON, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- National Grid, the international electricity
and gas company, today
announced preliminary results for the year ended 31 March 2009.
In a video interview, National Grid Chief Executive Officer Steve
Holliday said:
"We're very pleased with these results. They are a reflection of our
strategy. It is delivering. We've grown our operating profits this year by 12
per cent, our earnings per share on a proforma basis about 14 per cent. And
that's allowing us to recommend an increase in our dividend of 8 per cent,
exactly in line with the targets that we set ourselves. So this is a great
set of results."
He also highlights the low risk nature of the business in a volatile
environment and underlines the commitment to invest at least GBP3bn annually
over the coming three years.
