Requisition of EGM

New Star Investment Trust PLC

The Company has received a requisition from Mr John Duffield under Section 368
of the Companies Act 1985 to convene an Extraordinary General Meeting of the
Company to consider a proposal for a reconstruction of the Company which would
involve shareholders being offered an opportunity to transfer a proportion of
the Company's investment portfolio to a fund managed by Jupiter Asset
Management. The Directors will be writing to shareholders shortly to provide
them with details of the proposal and to convene an Extraordinary General
Meeting.
