Notification under Part VI Companies Act 1985

On 2 April 2003, Morgan Stanley Securities Limited (MSSL) entered into an
agreement (the Agreement) with JAB Investments B.V. and Joh. A. Benckiser GmbH
pursuant to which MSSL agreed to purchase 35,000,000 ordinary shares of 10.526p
each in the ordinary share capital of Reckitt Benckiser plc, which are
currently owned by JAB Investments B.V.

Immediately prior to the execution of the Agreement, MSSL and each of the
persons listed in the attached schedule (by virtue of their being holding
companies of MSSL) were interested in 6,118,010 ordinary shares of 10.526p each
as comprised in the relevant share capital, as defined in section 198(2) of the
Companies Act 1985 (the Act), of Reckitt Benckiser plc (Relevant Shares).

Following MSSL's entering into of the Agreement, and as a result of the
purchase obligation contained therein, we hereby notify you in accordance with
Part VI of the Act that:

(a) as at 2 April 2003, MSSL and each of the persons listed in the attached
schedule were interested for the purposes of the Act in 41,118,010 Relevant
Shares;

(b) so far as known to MSSL, as at the date hereof JAB Investments B.V. is the
registered holder of 35,000,000 of the Relevant Shares. MSSL is unaware of the
identity of the registered holder(s) of 6,118,010 of the Relevant Shares to
which this notification relates; and

 c. so far as known to MSSL, as at the date hereof of the 41,118,010 Relevant
    Shares in which MSSL and each of the persons listed in the attached
    schedule are taken to be interested, 5,815,150 are Relevant Shares in which
    MSSL and each of the persons listed in the attached schedule are taken to
    be interested by virtue of section 208(5) of the Act.
