Offer for Minority in Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd Closed
Reckitt Benckiser plc, the world's leading household cleaning company,
announced today the closing on June 12th, 2002 of its voluntary offer to
acquire the outstanding 49% minority in its Indian subsidiary, Reckitt
Benckiser (India) Ltd.
The offer, priced at INR 250 per share, valued the minority at approximately £
58.5m and therefore the whole of Reckitt Benckiser (India) Ltd at approximately
£119m.
Approximately 11.9 million shares were tendered in the offer, thereby
increasing the holding of Reckitt Benckiser plc in Reckitt Benckiser (India)
Ltd from 51.0% to 87.0%.
