Section 198 notification

RECKITT BENCKISER PLC                             

Reckitt Benckiser plc has today received the following notification from Morgan
Stanley Securities Limited notifying they no longer have an interest in the
ordinary shares of Reckitt Benckiser plc.

Dear Madam,

On 20 February 2003, Morgan Stanley Securities Limited (MSSL) notified Reckitt
Benckiser plc that MSSL and each of the persons listed in the attached schedule
(by virtue of their being holding companies of MSSL) were interested in
28,906,272 ordinary shares of 10.526p each as comprised in the relevant share
capital, as defined in section 198(2) of the Companies Act 1985 (the Act), of
Reckitt Benckiser plc (the Relevant Shares).

The interest of MSSL and each of the persons listed in the attached schedule in
25,000,000 of the Relevant Shares arose as a result of the underwriting
obligation contained in a placing agreement entered into on 19 February 2003
with JAB Investments B.V. and Joh. A. Benckiser pursuant to which MSSL agreed
to procure purchasers for, or failing which itself to purchase, 25,000,000
ordinary shares of 10.526p each in the ordinary share capital of Reckitt
Benckiser plc, which are currently owned by JAB Investments B.V.

Following settlement of the placing, we hereby notify you in accordance with
Part VI of the Act that, as at 24 February 2003, MSSL and each of the persons
listed in the attached schedule no longer had a notifiable interest in the
Relevant Shares.
