RM appoints Sir Bryan Carsberg as Non-Executive Director
RM plc, the UK's leading supplier of ICT software, systems and services to
education establishments, has appointed Sir Bryan Carsberg as a Non-Executive
Director.
Sir Bryan, who joins the Board with immediate effect, was a Non-Executive
Director of Nynex Cablecomms / Cable & Wireless Communications plc from 1996 to
2000. He is Chairman of the Pensions Compensation Board, a former Director
General of OFTEL and a former Director General of Fair Trading. He served as
Secretary General of the International Accounting Standards Committee from 1990
to 2001.
John Leighfield, Chairman of RM said,
'We announced at the time of our Interim results that we intended to appoint
new Non-Executive Directors to support the Executive team. Sir Bryan is the
first of these and I'm delighted to welcome someone of his calibre to RM's
Board. Sir Bryan brings an enormous breadth of experience from financial and
academic fields, and his understanding of telecommunications issues, public
policy and regulatory affairs will be extremely valuable to RM.'
Sir Bryan Carsberg said,

There are no details that are required to be disclosed under paragraph 6.F.2
(b) to (g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.

Biographical Details - Sir Bryan Carsberg
From 1969 to 1984 Sir Bryan followed a distinguished academic career. His
appointments included: Professor of Accounting and Business Finance at
Manchester University; Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Studies at
the University of Manchester; and Arthur Andersen Professor of Accounting at
the London School of Economics.
From 1984 to 1992 he served as the first Director General of OFTEL and from
1992 to 1995 he was Director General of Fair Trading. He recently advised the
joint parliamentary scrutiny committee on the proposed communications bill.
He is currently Chairman of the Pensions Compensation Board, Chairman of the
Advisory Council of MLL Telecom Ltd, a Non-Executive Director of the publishers
Philip Allan and Chairman of the Council of Loughborough University.
