8 May 2002 RM secures agreement to provide schools management software to second jurisdiction in Australia RM plc, the UK's leading supplier of ICT software, systems and services to education establishments, has extended its position in Australia with a major $2.2m agreement to supply school management systems to the Northern Territory Department Employment Education and Training (DEET). Under a four-year agreement with DEET, RM will provide pupil administration, finance and timetabling software to all Territory schools in the jurisdiction. RM will also provide its Centris SQL database system, which will be used by DEET in data driven decision-making. The securing of these orders follows on from an earlier $7m contract awarded to RM in 1999 for the provision of student administration software to all state schools in Western Australia. In the intervening period, RM Australasia has also been extending the penetration of its Curriculum Planning and Management software to South Australia and Queensland with a view to significant future growth in the next 12 to 24 months. The four-year agreement with the Northern Territory, which comprises software products, first line support and maintenance, will be handled by the Group's wholly-owned subsidiary, RM Australasia Pty. RM will also be providing training and ancillary services in addition to the main contract over the four year period.
