CHANGES TO THE ROLLS-ROYCE GROUP PLC BOARD
Rolls-Royce has appointed Professor Peter Gregson and John Rishton as
non-executive directors. They will join the Board with effect from 1 March
2007.
Professor Peter Gregson is President and Vice Chancellor of Queen's University
Belfast and John Rishton is Chief Financial Officer of Royal Ahold, having
formerly served on the Board as Chief Financial Officer at British Airways.
Simon Robertson, Chairman of Rolls-Royce, commented, "We are delighted that
Peter Gregson and John Rishton will be joining our Board. Peter will be able to
bring to bear his understanding of technology issues, and John has extensive
knowledge of international business and the aviation industry which will be
particularly valuable to Rolls-Royce".
Rolls-Royce also announced that Sir John Taylor will be retiring as a
non-executive director on 1 May 2007 as he will no longer be able to commit the
time he believes will be required by the Board in the coming years. Simon
Robertson commented, "We are very grateful to Sir John for the contribution he
has made to the Group over the period he has served on our Board".

Professor Peter J Gregson FREng, FIEI
President and Vice-Chancellor, Queen's University Belfast
Professor Gregson has been President and Vice-Chancellor of Queen's University
Belfast since 2004. He serves on the Northern Ireland Economic Development
Forum, the Council of CBI Northern Ireland and the Steering Group of the US -
Ireland Research and Development Partnership.
Educated at Imperial College London where he was awarded the Bessemer Medal and
the Matthey Prize, Peter Gregson was appointed to the academic staff at the
University of Southampton in 1983, progressing to Professor of Aerospace
Materials in 1995 and Deputy Vice-Chancellor in 2000.
Professor Gregson has received the Donald Julius Groen Prize of the Institution
of Mechanical Engineers (1994) and the Rosenhain Medal and Prize of the
Institute of Materials (1996) in recognition of his research on advanced
aerospace aluminium alloys. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Academy of
Engineering in 2001 and to the Council in 2005. He was appointed to the Council
of CCLRC in 2003.
