25 May 2011 ROLLS-ROYCE APPOINTS LEWIS BOOTH AS A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, today announces the appointment of Lewis Booth as a non-executive Director. He will also join the Audit, Ethics and Nominations Committees today. Lewis will become Chair of the Audit Committee with effect from 31 July 2011, a role most recently undertaken on a temporary basis by Ian Strachan. Lewis Booth is executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ford Motor Company. In appointing Mr Booth, Sir Simon Robertson, Rolls-Royce Chairman, said: "I am delighted to welcome Lewis Booth as a non-executive Director of Rolls-Royce. Lewis is recognised as one of the strongest and most experienced international leaders within the auto industry. He will bring to our Board a wealth of experience of international finance and business gleaned from many years in Ford." Lewis Booth has been Ford Motor Company's Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since 2008. He began his career with British Leyland, before joining Ford in 1978. He has held a series of senior positions within the company in Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States. 2. In 2010, Rolls-Royce invested £923 million on research and development, two thirds of which had the objective of further improving the environmental performance of its products, in particular reducing emissions. 7. Rolls-Royce supports a global network of 28 University Technology Centres, which connect the company's engineers with the forefront of scientific research.
