19 June, 2007 AERCAP SELECTS ROLLS-ROYCE TRENT 700 FOR A330s The Rolls-Royce Trent 700 has been selected by Dutch aircraft leasing company, AerCap Holdings N.V., to power 10 firm Airbus A330s, with options for a further three. Deliveries of the Trent-powered aircraft are due to begin in 2009. AerCap has also established a framework agreement with Rolls-Royce under which TotalCare services provision will be offered to all airline customers. Klaus Heinemann, Chief Executive Officer of AerCap said: "The success of the Trent 700 in the marketplace proves that it is a valuable addition to any A330 lease fleet. We are also confident in the TotalCare services offering that will provide us, and our customers, with significant value throughout the operating life of the engine." Mark King, Chief Commercial Officer, Civil Aerospace for Rolls-Royce, added: "The Trent 700 has the largest market share on the A330 and the continuous improvement and incorporation of advanced Trent family technology will offer increased benefits to customers, including the lowest fuel burn of any engine on the A330. We're pleased to welcome AerCap as a new Trent customer and look forward to working together in the future as their widebody fleet grows." In the last three years, the Trent 700 has won more than 80 per cent of A330 engine competitions featuring aircraft leasing companies and it remains the market-leading engine for the A330. NOTE TO EDITORS: 1. The Trent 700 is the only engine on the A330 that has been specifically designed for the aircraft, resulting in better performance, reliability and maintenance costs. It is the market leader on the A330 with a 46 per cent share of firm and option orders. 2. The Trent 700 was the first engine in the Trent family to enter service in March 1995 and is the most powerful engine for the A330, with a maximum in-service thrust of 72,000lb. 3. The Trent 700 is the most environmentally friendly engine on the A330. It is the quietest and cleanest option, with the greatest margin to CAEP 4 legislation. 4. Rolls-Royce is working hard to improve the environmental impact of its products. Each year Rolls-Royce, in collaboration with its partners, invests around £700 million on research and development, two thirds of which has the objective of reducing the environmental impact of its products. This technology investment is primarily aimed at reducing noise and emissions. 5. TotalCare agreements, tailored for individual customers, offer a range of services extending to aspects of support such as provision of lease engines, as well as repair and overhaul. Rolls-Royce takes full responsibility for care of the engine fleet in return for payment by the customer of an agreed dollar rate per flying hour. 6. AerCap Holdings N.V. is an integrated global aviation company with a market presence in aircraft and engine leasing, trading and parts sales. The Company provides aircraft management services, and performs aircraft and engine maintenance, repair and overhaul services and aircraft disassemblies through its certified repair stations.
