             ROYAL BRUNEI AIRLINES SELECTS ROLLS-ROYCE TRENT 1000              
                           FOR NEW BOEING 787 FLEET                            

Royal Brunei Airlines has selected the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 to power four
Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners it is acquiring on a lease agreement. In addition, the
engines will be covered by a long-term TotalCare service agreement which gives
lifetime protection for each powerplant.

Royal Brunei Airlines is taking the 787s as part of a fleet renewal programme
and deliveries are scheduled to begin in late 2009.

Rozman Junaidi, Vice President of Corporate Communications of Royal Brunei
Airlines said: "We have considered all elements of our fleet replacement plan
to ensure that we operate the most advanced equipment. There is no doubt that
the Trent 1000 is the best engine for the 787 in terms of performance and
environmental impact and will therefore, make a valuable addition to our
fleet."

Nick Devall, Executive Vice President of Customer Business at Rolls-Royce,
added: "The Trent-powered 787 forms part of Royal Brunei's strategic plan to
modernise its fleet. It is a conscientious decision that reflects the growing
demand from airlines to minimise their environmental footprint.

Royal Brunei Airlines previously operated a number of Rolls-Royce powered
aircraft, including Boeing 757s fitted with the RB211-535, and Fokker 100s
powered by the Tay engine. It currently operates four Airbus A320 family
aircraft equipped with the V2500 engine, which is manufactured by the IAE
(International Aero Engines) consortium, in which Rolls-Royce is a senior
shareholder.

The Trent 1000 is the launch engine for all current versions of the Boeing 787.
It will enter into service on the 787-8 with ANA (All Nippon Airways) in
mid-2008, followed by service entry of the 787-3, also with ANA, and 787-9 with
Air New Zealand in 2010.

A total of 19 customers and operators have selected the Trent 1000 for their
787s.

 4. TotalCare agreements, tailored for individual customers, offer a range of
    services extending to aspects of support such as provision of lease
    engines, as well as repair and overhaul. Rolls-Royce takes full
    responsibility for care of the engine fleet in return for payment by the
    customer of an agreed dollar rate per flying hour.
