         ROLLS-ROYCE WINS $280M ORDER FROM GARUDA INDONESIA AIRLINES

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, has won a $280m order, at list
prices, from Garuda Indonesia Airlines for Trent 700 engines to power four
Airbus A330 aircraft. In addition, the airline confirmed a previous order for
Trent 700 engines to power six A330s, which was announced last year. All ten
aircraft will have long-term TotalCare service support.

Emirsyah Satar, Chief Executive Officer, Garuda Indonesia Airlines, said: "We
are pleased to select additional Rolls-Royce engines to support the growth of
our A330 fleet. In addition, TotalCare has delivered significant improvements
in aircraft availability and operations to our existing A330 fleet and this
will continue with our latest aircraft."

contract underscores the market leading position of the Trent 700, the only
engine designed specifically for the A330."

The Trent 700, the only engine specifically designed for the A330, remains the
market leader for the aircraft, with more than 1,400 either in service on
order, and achieving more than 75 per cent of new orders over the last three
years. The order brings the total number of Garuda's Trent 700 powered A330s to
20, all supported by TotalCare.

which connect the company's engineers with the forefront of scientific
research.
