         ROLLS-ROYCE AND AREVA MOVE FORWARD TOGETHER IN NUCLEAR MARKET         

Rolls-Royce, the global power systems company, and AREVA will further develop
their collaboration on nuclear build projects following a new agreement
finalised today.

Lord Green, Trade and Investment Minister, attended the signing at the Royal
Academy of Engineering, London.

The two companies have agreed to work together to deliver new nuclear projects
for AREVA's EPR reactor design. This agreement builds on the progress made
since joint work began in 2008. The scope of the agreement includes the
manufacturing of complex components for nuclear power stations and will lead to
the development of a joint plan to meet the demand for the first new nuclear
reactors to be built in the UK since the completion of Sizewell B in 1995.

Anne Lauvergeon, CEO AREVA, said: "We are delighted that Rolls-Royce, a

ensure that UK industry can perform a key role in manufacturing the new plants

Rolls-Royce has significant nuclear skills, with a large existing nuclear
certified supply chain, and supports a number of key phases of the nuclear
programme, including providing advice to governments and operators, supply
chain management expertise, as well as manufacturing and technical engineering
support. The Group also provides safety-critical instrumentation and control
systems to all 58 operating nuclear power facilities in France and to more than
50 others across Europe, the USA and wider international markets.

    approximately 2,600 employees in the UK, France, US, Canada and the Czech
    Republic.

    reactor lifecycle, from concept design through to obsolescence management
    and plant life extension. With nuclear expertise including component
    manufacturing, licensing, project and supply chain management as well as

    for over 50 years.
   
 8. As the lead industrial partner, Rolls-Royce is supporting the development
    of the UK's Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Centre that will bring together
    an industrial consortium of around 30 companies from the UK nuclear supply
    chain. University partners will lead key research themes.
