Sage appoints non-executive director
The Sage Group plc ("Sage") announces that it has appointed Ian Mason to the
Sage Board as non-executive director from 1 November 2007. Mr Mason will serve
on the audit, remuneration and nominations committees.
Mr Mason is Chief Executive of Electrocomponents plc, a FTSE 250 company and
the leading global high-service distributor of electronic, electrical and
industrial supplies to research and development and maintenance engineers in
businesses around the world.
Mr Mason joined Electrocomponents plc in 1995 as Business Development Director
and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2000 and Chief Executive in 2001.
He previously worked for the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey & Co, after
obtaining a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Cambridge University and a BSc in
Applied Chemistry from Leicester Polytechnic. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD
in France.
Commenting on the appointment, Tony Hobson, Chairman, said, "We are delighted
that Ian Mason has agreed to join the Sage board. Ian brings extensive
practical experience of running a successful international business and has
excellent knowledge of the opportunities and challenges facing
business-to-business services companies like Sage and Electrocomponents."
There are no other details requiring disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13,
relating to further information on this appointment, including other public
company directorships.
