Serco Group plc appoints Non-Executive Director
Serco Group plc ('Serco') today announces the appointment of Leonard Broese van
Groenou as a non-Executive Director of the company. Leonard will take up this
post on April 3, 2006.
Leonard is appointed to succeed fellow non-executive director Ralph Hodge who
retires from the board in May, having served the group for six years. The Board
would like to express its thanks to Ralph for his contribution and support to
the company over the last six years.
In 2004, Leonard retired as vice president Human Resources, and member of the
corporate executive committee, of Pennsylvania-based Air Products after nearly
thirty years with this international company. Air Products, which is listed on
the New York stock exchange, serves customers in technology, energy, healthcare
and industrial markets worldwide.
Leonard's career at Air Products has spanned numerous international roles
including financial control, business planning, operational management and
human resources. During that time, he was instrumental in defining and
instilling a company culture focused on innovation, operational excellence and
safety.
In addition to joining the Board, Leonard will sit on the Remuneration, Audit,
Nominations and Training and Development committees.
Kevin Beeston, Serco's Executive Chairman said: "We are delighted that Leonard
has agreed to join us. He brings a high degree of international experience in a
technically complex, people oriented company. His understanding of the needs of
growing, international businesses will be significant in helping us shape
