    Ltd. as the Company's UK Nominated Advisor and Broker

    TORONTO, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - The Board of SouthernEra Diamonds Inc. (the

"Company") (TSX: SDM, AIM: SRE) announced today that Canaccord Capital

(Europe) Ltd. has been appointed with immediate effect to act as nominated

advisor and broker to SouthernEra Diamonds in respect of the Company's listing

on the London Stock Exchange AIM.

    SouthernEra Diamonds is a Canadian public company with its primary

listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange and a secondary listing on the AIM.

SouthernEra Diamonds emerged from the reorganisation of SouthernEra Resources

Limited on September 1, 2004, when that Company's platinum assets were

transferred to a newly listed company, Southern Platinum Corp. (TSX: SPC).

SouthernEra Resources Limited was renamed SouthernEra Diamonds Inc. and

continues to hold all the diamond assets of SouthernEra Resources Limited.

    SouthernEra Diamonds is Canada's largest fully integrated diamond company

and has the fourth largest global diamond exploration program. The Company's

diamond interests are located in Canada, South Africa, Angola, Gabon, the DRC

and Australia. The Company also operates the Klipspringer Diamond Mine in
