TORONTO, Sept. 19 /CNW/ - SouthernEra Resources Limited is pleased to
announce the successful commissioning of the Messina Platinum Mine's new
90,000 tonnes per month Phase 1 Platinum Concentrator Plant.
Following cold commissioning of the concentrator plant by the
construction company DRA, the plant was handed over to Messina Platinum for
hot commissioning on September 12, nine days ahead of the scheduled September
21 date.
The concentrator plant commenced with hot commissioning on September 13
and has been milling low-grade ore to prove the mill and test the float
circuit mechanical and electrical systems. It is expected that the plant will
progress to stockpiled normal plant feed during the course of the coming week.
The new tailings dam facility received the initial milled tonnage and is
on track for the scheduled completion date.
Current indications are that the plant will show substantial savings over
the budgeted R189 million (US$18 million) with a projected final cost of R167
million (US$16 million).
