Notification of Transactions of Directors

Spectris plc ("the Company") was today informed of the following transactions:

On 20th November 2007, Mr Stephen Harris, Business Group Director of the
Company, exercised 35,000 options (0.03% of issued class). The options were
exercised at a price of 717.7011p and the resulting shares were retained. Mr
Harris' total beneficial holding following this transaction has increased to
19,924 shares (0.017% of issued class).

There are 85,000 shares remaining under option.
