SOFTWARE RADIO TECHNOLOGY PLC
TETRA TECHNOLOGY SUPPLY AGREEMENTS
The Directors of Software Radio Technology plc ("SRT" or the "Company") are
pleased to announce that SRT has entered into agreements with Teltronic, S.A.U.
("Teltronic") of Spain and Selex Communications S.p.A. ("Selex") of Italy for
the supply of TETRA handset technology in the form of its RF ASIC. The initial
agreements are worth a minimum of US$1.2 million over the next 16 months with
further upside as handset sales increase.
Teltronic is the only Spanish manufacturer of TETRA and other PMR (Professional
Mobile Radio) systems. The company manufactures and supplies TETRA equipment
worldwide through an international network of distributors and SRT's technology
is an integral element of this equipment.
Selex is a wholly owned subsidiary of Finmeccanica Group and is based in
Florence, Italy. The company is the only Italian manufacturer of TETRA systems
and last year was informally awarded the contract to supply the Italian
national TETRA system and is now awaiting the formal contract. In addition,
Selex supplies its equipment worldwide. Again SRT's technology is an integral
element of this equipment.
Simon Tucker, SRT's Managing Director said, "Selex and Teletronic have been
TETRA customers of SRT for some time. These new agreements demonstrate the
growth in the TETRA market and the value SRT's evolving digital PMR technology
provides to these multinational companies. Both customers have exceptional
opportunities within Europe and elsewhere and we will continue to work with
them to ensure their success and that SRT technology remains at the core of
their TETRA equipment."
