TRADING HALT ON THE ASX

Range Resources Limited ("Range" or "the Company") wishes to advise that the
ordinary shares of Range have today been placed in a trading halt on the
Australian Securities Exchange ("ASX") pending the release of an announcement
relating to clarification from Puntland on its relationship with the
Transitional Federal Government of Somalia (the "TFG"). This follows the recent
approval by the Puntland parliament of new Puntland mineral and petroleum
exploration and development legislation (under which Range's Puntland
exploration rights would be broadly protected). 


Range expects to be able to make such further announcement before Thursday this
week at which time its shares will commence trading on the ASX. Range shares
will continue trading on AIM during this period.
