STRATEGIC EQUITY CAPITAL PLC

Strategic Equity Capital plc ("the Company") was informed on 2 July 2014 that
Stuart Widdowson, Strategic Fund Manager at GVO Investment Management, the
Investment Manager of the Company, and persons connected to Mr Widdowson, had
on 2 July 2014 purchased an aggregate of 60,000 Ordinary 10 pence shares of
the Company. All shares were purchased at a price of 156.5 pence per share,
with the exception of 3,300 shares purchased by Nicholas Widdowson, which were
purchased at 155.2 pence per share.

Following this transaction, Stuart Widdowson and connected persons are
interested in a total of 576,100 Ordinary 10 pence shares (representing 1.0% of
the shares in issue), as follows:

Stuart Widdowson - 390,500 shares (of which 323,900 are held in a SIPP)

Anna Widdowson - 174,100 shares (of which 18,000 are held in a SIPP)

Nicholas Widdowson - 6,100 shares

Patrick Widdowson - 5,400 shares
