Strategic Equity Capital plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael
Phillips as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 9 August
2007.

Mr Phillips is the Chief Executive of iimia Investment Group plc which is an
AIM listed company. He is also currently a non executive director of iimia
Investment Trust PLC:

There are no further details required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule
9.6.13 (2) - (6).
