United Utilities Group PLC ("the Company") announces that it received
notification on 18 May 2010 that the Trustee, Equiniti Share Plan Trustees
Limited, purchased ordinary shares of 5p each on behalf of the following
directors and persons discharging managerial responsibility on 17 May 2010, to
be held in accordance with the rules of the Company's HMRC approved share
incentive plan. The shares were purchased at a price of 523.5 pence per share.
